形態特徵

• Culms stout, solid, juicy, to 3 m high, white silky hairy below inflorescence.
• Blade glabrous, 4-6 cm wide, midrib stout, white; ligule membranaceous, truncate, ca. 2 mm long; sheath longer than internode, imbricate.
• Panicle very large, ca. 60 cm long, main axis white, silky; rachis and apex of pedicel swollen; margins of rachis long, ciliated, 6-10 mm long; pedicel glabrous, 3-4 mm long. Spikelets paired, monomorphic, one pedicellate, other sessile; sessile spikelet ca. 4.5 mm long; callus silvery, long soft hairy, hairs 2-3 times as long as spikelet; lower glume lanceolate., margins membranaceous and ciliate, 2- keeled, 4-nerved; upper glume 3-nerved, boat shaped; lower lemma 1-nerved, oblong-lanceolate; upper lemma ca. 3 mm long; upper palea ca. 2 mm long; anthers ca. 1.5 mm long.
